Support our library

The Dearborn Library Millage Committee has been formed to support passage of the 1 mill  Proposal 2   ballot issue. The necessary millage will help fund the city’s libraries and partially offset State and local funding reductions.

This millage will help keep Dearborn’s award winning library open by providing dedicated funding to the library rather than  relying on an already overburdened city budget.

Passage of the millage proposal will help protect home owners and business property values from declining further if Dearborn would have to close its library system.

The Dearborn Library system provides educational and informational opportunities for residents of all ages and is a convenient gathering place for  meetings, studying and classes.

The average Dearborn homeowner would pay about $.15 per day with the passage of this millage. However, if Dearborn residents had to use libraries in neighboring communities it would cost them $75—$150 per year. Additionally, not all communities allow nonresidents to purchase library cards.
